Ninh Binh

Our 3d destination in Vietnam was Ninh Binh, also called the "dry Halong Bay". The summer rain did not exactly match the dry expectations we had, but the limestone rock formations in this red river delta are nevertheless very impressive. On the first day, we took bicycles from our resort and made a very nice tour along the Van Long nature reserve close by. On the second day, we climbed up to the pagoda near Mua Cave and then explored the cave itself afterwards. We encountered most of the rain on the Trang An boat trip, which was still nice though. We concluded the activities of the day with another great lunch at home with a family (the youngest family member was 22 days old!). Timme really could practice his chopsticks experience.
