This is a re-processed version of a portrait I shot in Nepal in 2008 (original can be found here on Flickr).

I purchased the new Adobe Lightroom 3 yesterday, and this is a first test result. So far I’m quite happy with it

A shot from Nepal, taken in 2008, from Poon Hill near the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. This photograph was published on 1X.com last year, but since it wasn’t on this photo blog yet, I wanted to add it here as well. It was taken during one of the most impressive sunrises I’ve ever witnessed.

To photograph this sunrise we had to get up very early and climb famous “Poon Hill” – providing a great view.
Most you see here is part of the Annapurna range, and on the far right Machapuchare (or “Fish Tail”) is also visible.

This Sadhu was posing on Katmandu Durbar Square. He was asking someone else for money to take his photo, while I quickly took this candid portrait… (and of course gave him some money as well afterwards , but I preferred a not too posed portrait)

Second Nepal shot from this week is from Swayambunath – the Monkey Temple in Kathmandu. An amazinig place. See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swayambhunath

This week I collected some daily photos from Nepal, like this guy sleeping at Durbar Square in Kathmandu… he doesn’t even seem to be disturbed by the bird flying by his head. Katmandu is an amazing place. You can find some of my photos of it also on Fotopedia.

Op een of andere manier selecteer je toch vaak te snel in je foto collecties. Neem nu Nepal bijvoorbeeld; direct na terugkomst vorig jaar Oktober een selectie gemaakt van zo’n 250 van de in totaal ruim 1.500 geschoten foto’s. En het gekke is: de ongeselecteerde 1.250 kijk je eigenlijk nooit meer naar… Daarom nu een keer aandacht besteed aan wat er nog meer in de digitale DoKa lag.

Oftewel: Nepal Reloaded.
